Two ex-ex-gays from the United States

Get the Flash Player to see this player.

David and Scott found out they were gay when they were young. Then they became self-proclaimed ex-gays trough ‘Love in Action’, a christian organisation that tries to brainwash gays into being straight again. Ofcourse it never really worked: they definately know they are gay now, making them ex-ex-gays.

Anthony, I notice that you immediately start talking about “the lifestyle”. Like being straight, being gay isn’t a lifestyle; it’s an orientation. What lifestyle you lead is up to you, and there as many possible gay lifestyles as there are straight ones.

You can even attempt to live a lifestyle that is in contradiction to your orientation. Gays who can’t accept their natural orientation have been doing that since time immemorial, but it’s just a form of self-abuse, and fortunately ever fewer are even attempting it, thank God.

I agree that it isn’t easy to leave the ORIENTATION, and that it won’t happen overnight; in fact I’d go further and say that it almost certainly won’t happen at all. I’m not saying that no-one’s sexual orientation ever changes – I believe that that does sometimes happen – but there is no way of making it happen. Either it will or it won’t. Except in a tiny number of cases, it won’t. Expecting it is like waiting for all your numbers to come up in the Lottery. “It could be you” used to be one of the mottoes of the UK Lottery. Yes, it could, but it won’t. (I’m not suggesting that the two things are comparable in any other respect: winning the Lottery would be far more worthwhile.)

I would like the people who leave comments on this website to talk with those who are successful in going straight. Then they would probably say that those ex gay people where never gay in the first place.
It isn’t easy to leave the gay lifestyle and give ALL of yourself to God. And it doesn’t happen over night. We must look at the full picture, and not just address the parts that gays want to talk about in this situation.

An excellent video! It sums up very well the hocus-pocus of the ex-gay movement.

And you’re quite right, Matjesherring?lang=en. God has no more reason to change gay people into straight people than he has to change that tenor who’s singing “De’ miei bollenti spiriti” in the background into a bass.

God can change gay people into straight people. But He doesn’t want to because God loves gay people and they have a purpose in His plan just like everything else has a purpose in His plan.
